Myofascial Release

Inspired by the work of Dr. John Upledger, craniosacral therapy focuses on the gentle movement of the cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and nourishes the brain and spinal cord. When this system is supported, the body can shift out of a constant state of stress and survival and return to a place of calm, rest, and healing.

Using a light, attentive touch, I assist your body in releasing stored tension and restrictions, allowing this natural rhythm to restore balance, clarity, and overall well-being

Using the John Barnes approach to myofascial release, this work focuses on the fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds and supports every structure in the body. Over time, physical stress, injury, and emotional experiences can create restrictions within this system, leading to pain, tightness, and limited movement.

Using the John Barnes approach to myofascial release, this work focuses on the fascia — the connective tissue that surrounds and supports every structure in the body. Over time, physical stress, injury, and emotional experiences can create restrictions within this system, leading to pain, tightness, and limited movement.

Through sustained, gentle pressure and guided stretching, I assist the body in releasing these restrictions, helping to restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and bring the body back into a more natural state of alignment and ease.

The Deeper Work

As the body begins to settle through craniosacral therapy, the nervous system shifts out of a constant state of stress and into the parasympathetic state — where true healing can occur. In this space of safety and stillness, the body no longer feels the need to protect or guard.

This is where myofascial work becomes profoundly effective.

From the understanding of John Barnes, the fascia is not just a physical structure — it is a living, responsive system that holds patterns of tension, trauma, and unresolved emotional energy. When the body is in a guarded or survival state, these restrictions remain locked in place.

But when the nervous system softens, the fascia becomes more receptive.

Using sustained, gentle pressure and presence, I assist the body in releasing these deeper restrictions. As the fascia unwinds, it is not uncommon for stored emotions, memories, or long-held patterns to surface and gently resolve. This is a natural part of the body’s healing intelligence.

This is where the work goes beyond the physical.

It becomes a process of letting go — not just of pain and tension, but of the energy and experiences that no longer serve you. As these layers release, the body returns to a more balanced, open, and connected state.

This is where true healing begins.
